Kochi, August 31: After a video surfaced on social media showing over 30 students in a Kerala college allegedly waving Pakistan's flag, the students were booked and charges framed on them. According to reports, the incident reportedly took place inside the campus of a college. The students, said to be belonging to Muslim Students Front (MSF), have come under scanner for waving the giant Pakistan flag. A case was registered by the Perambra police in the Kozhikode district of Kerala after a video was shared online by various groups and individuals. The video shows a giant flag of Pakistan carried by students amid huge noise created by musical instruments. There are other flags in the background too. More than 30 students booked for allegedly waving #Pakistan flag in college campus of Kerala. Case has been filed against students from MSF (Muslim Students Front). This incident happened when students were carrying out procession as part of union elections.

The students have said in their response that they could not anticipate that their act would become controversial. They also said to the police that the size of the flag was indeed more than the permissible limit allowed in the campus.
The students were booked under IPC sections. The sections they have been charged with are 143, 147, 153 and 149. The action ahead will be taken after further inquiry is completed and the students identified, said reports. The incident comes at a time when India-Pakistan tensions are at their peak.
