Iconic dialogues of Shah Rukh Khan.

Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most celebrated actors in the Hindi film industry. He enjoys a fan following like no other and for all the right reasons. The actor’s charisma, persona, style, acting and, most importantly, dialogue delivery makes him the Badshah of Bollywood. To mark King Khan’s 56th birthday, we revisit some of Shah Rukh Khan’s most iconic dialogues. Read on:

BAAZIGAR

Released in the year 1993, the action-thriller became a huge commercial success and the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of the year. Shah Rukh won hearts with his acting and his dialogue “Kabhi kabhi jeetne ke liye kuch haarna padta hai. Aur haar ke jeetne waale ko Baazigar kehte hai."

The 1995 romantic film is considered SRK’s best film of all time. He delivered several heart-winning dialogues in the flick, but the two that remain the most popular are:

“Agar yeh tujhe pyaar karti hai to ye palat ke dekhegi. Palat - palat!”

"Bade Bade deshon mein aaisi choti choti baatein hoti rehti hain... Senorita!!"

KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai hit theatres in 1998 with Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’s star cast - Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The romantic comedy film ruled the hearts of its viewers thanks to its story and Shah Rukh’s dialogues:

“Hum ek baar jeete hai, ek baar marte hai, shaadi bhi ek baar hoti hai aur pyaar bhi ek baar hota hai.”

“Pyaar dosti hai. Agar woh meri sabse achi dost nahi ban sakti toh main usse kabhi pyaar kar hi nahi sakta. Kyunki dosti bina toh pyaar hota hi nahi.”

MOHABBATEIN

Shah Rukh Khan’s Mohabbatein was released in 2000. While Amitabh Bachchan made an impact with his acting prowess, Shah Rukh Khan stole the limelight with the way he delivered his lines.

“Main aaj bhi usse utni hi mohabbat karta hoon aur isliye nahi ki koi aur nahi mili par isliye ki usse mohabbat karne se fursat hi nahi milti.”

This dialogue still tugs the strings of many hearts.

KABHI KHUSHI KABHIE GHAM

If you are an ardent Shah Rukh Khan fan, there is no way you have not watched Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Some of us go back to re-watch the film to see SRK say, “Zindagi mein kuch banna ho, kuch haasil karna ho, kuch jeetna ho toh hamesha apne dil ki suno. Aur agar dil se bhi koi jawaab na aye, to apni aankhen band karke apni maa aur baba ka naam lo. Phir dekhna, har manzil paar kar jaoge, har mushkil asan ho jaegi. Jeet tumhari hogi. Sirf tumhari”

DEVDAS

Devdas, the epic romantic drama hit the big screens in 2002. When it comes to iconic dialogues, Devdas is packed with such deliveries. However, the one that remains the all-time favourite is, “Babuji ne kaha gaon chhod do, sab ne kaha Paro ko chhod do, Paro ne kaha sharab chhod do, aaj tumne keh diya haweli chhod do, ek din aayega jab woh kahenge, duniya hi chhod do.”

VEER-ZAARA

If there is one romantic film that left us all teary-eyed, it has to be the 2004 romantic drama, Veer-Zaara. The most heart-warming SRK's dialogue from the film is, “Sachi mohabbat zindagi main sirf ek baar hoti hai aur jab hoti hai, toh koi bhagwan ya khuda usse nakamayab nahi hone deta.”

CHAK DE! INDIA

Though Shah Rukh Khan is known as the King of Romance, he proved with Chak De! India that he can also leave an impact by delivering inspirational dialogues. Sattar (70) minute, sattar minute hai tumhare paas. Shayad yeh tumhare zindagi ke sab se khaas sattar minute hai. Aaj tum aacha khelo ya bura khelo, yeh sattar minute tumhe zindagi bhar yaad rahegi. Toh kaise khelna hai aaj mein tumhe nahin bataunga. Bas itna kahunga, ki jao aur yeh sattar minute jee bhar kar khelna kyunki iske baad aane wali zindagi chahe kuch sahi ho ya na ho, chahe kuch rahe ya na rahe, haro ya jeeto, lekin yeh sattar minute tumse koi nahin cheen saktha. Kyunki main jaantha hu ki aagar yeh sattar minute is team ka har player apne zindagi ki sabse badiya hockey khel gaya toh yeh sattar minute khuda bhi tumse vapas nahin maang saktha."

OM SHANTI OM

Om Shanti Om is a romantic comedy film that was released in 2007. It was a huge commercial success and was loved by Shah Rukh Khan’s fans worldwide. Dialogues that are still remembered from the films are:

“Itni shiddat se maine tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai, ki har zarre ne mujhe tumse milane ki koshish ki hai. Kehte hain agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaaho to puri kayanat usey tumse milane ki koshish main lag jaati hai.”

RAB NE BANA DI JODI

The 2008 romantic comedy film received critical acclaim and broke many box office records. It became the year-end blockbuster due to the film’s story and SRK’s impactful dialogue delivery.

“Main jab bhi aap ko dekhta hoon mujhe Rab dikhta hai. Rab ke samne matha tekta hoon toh dil ko sukoon milta hai. Aap ko hanste hue dekhta hoon toh dil ko aur bhi sukoon milta hai. Toh main toh aapko Rab se bhi zyada pyar karta hoon.”

JAB TAK HAI JAAN

The 2012 romantic film, Jab Tak Hai Jaan emerged as one of the year's top-earners. Shah Rukh once again made everyone fall in love with him due to way he said his lines, especially, “Teri aankhon ki namkeen mastiyaan, teri hansi ki beparwah gustakhiyaan, teri zulfon ki lehraati angdaaiyaan, nahi bhoolunga main, jab tak hai jaan, jab tak hai jaan.”

Shah Rukh Khan will soon be seen in Pathan and Atlee's next. However, currently, the films have been put on hold due to his son Aryan Khan's recent arrest in the Mumbai cruise drugs case. Aryan was granted bail by the Bombay High Court on October 28 and was released from the Arthur Road jail on October 30.
