Will expose Nawab Malik's links with the underworld, says Devendra Fadnavis

After Nawab Malik tweeted a photo of alleged drug peddler Jaydeep Rana and Devendra Fadnavis, the former Maharashtra chief minister denied any links with him.

Hours after Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik tweeted a photo of alleged drug peddler Jaydeep Rana and Devendra Fadnavis, the former Maharashtra chief minister denied any links with him.

The photo tweeted by Malik was apparently taken during the recording of Amruta Fadnavis' river anthem project in 2018. Nawab Malik said Rana was the finance head of the project. Amruta is the wife of Devendra Fadnavis.

Addressing a press conference, Devendra Fadnavis said the photos tweeted by Nawab Malik were of a person hired by an organisation called River March.

"This person clicked pictures with everyone, including my wife and me," Devendra Fadnavis said. "My wife works in the social field and is known to be outspoken. So when they can't attack me, they attack my wife. We won't cross decency but we will reply," Fadnavis said.

The BJP leader also said he would soon expose Nawab Malik's links with the underworld.

"Those who have connections with the underworld shouldn't speak. I will soon expose Malik's links with the underworld. He started the game, wait for Diwali to get over," Fadnavis said.

Devendra Fadnavis claimed Nawab Malik was trying to weaken the FIR against his son-in-law by making such allegations.

Nawab Malik's son-in-law Sameer Khan was arrested on January 13 this year by NCB in connection with a drugs case. Khan was granted bail on September 27, after eight months in prison.

"I will bring out things that have not been brought out before. Devendra Fadnavis never speaks without proof. I don't have a reputation of retracting allegations," he said.
