In what appears to be a major move to bring respite to the newly appointed teachers of the primary and upper primary schools of the Basic Education Department schools, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered expediting the verification of their documents to ensure payment of their salaries on time.

CM Yogi has also warned of strict action against all those negligent officials responsible for a delay in the verification process.

The CM has issued the directive following a demand by teachers’ organisations regarding the payment of salaries to all the newly appointed teachers as only 60 percent of them whose documents have already been verified, are being paid their salaries.

UP Govt asks teachers to complete verification of documents to get salary

The Chief Minister has told the concerned authorities to complete the verification of documents of the newly appointed teachers as soon as possible to expedite payment of their salaries, warning of stern action against officials responsible for a delay in verification.

The Yogi Government had recruited 69,000 teachers in the Basic Education Department last year in order to overcome the shortage of teachers in the state. The teachers have been posted in primary and upper primary schools of the Basic Education Department, which runs more than 1.5 lakh schools in the state.

However, owing to the delay in the verification of their documents, only 60 percent of the newly appointed teachers are currently getting their salaries. Acting promptly on the demand of teachers, CM Yogi directed officials to complete the verification of the documents of the remaining newly appointed teachers as soon as possible to facilitate payment of their salaries.
