The police have decided to seal the Haridwar border for today and tomorrow in order to avoid overcrowding on the occasion of Kartik Purnima.
The borders of Uttarakhand's Haridwar will remain sealed today and tomorrow as a measure to ensure that devotees do not enter the district to take the holy dip in Ganga.
"In order to avoid overcrowding, the devotees are not allowed to take a holy dip in Ganga on the occasion of Kartik Purnima," says SSP Senthil Abudai Krishnaraj S.
On the other hand, as coronavirus cases are on the rise in Dehradun, police have announced that people entering Uttarakhand will have to undergo the rapid antigen Covid-19 test.
People coming from other states, especially from Delhi, will be checked at the Ashkrodi, Kulhan, and Pass Gate border check posts of the state, and allowed only after undergoing the coronavirus test.
Meanwhile, Dehradun will see a weekly lockdown of all market places, with the exception of shops selling essential items.
