Purvanchal Expressway connecting Lucknow to Ghazipur to go public in January

 The 341 km long expressway is expected to be completed in December.

The Purvanchal Expressway is expected to be open for public in January. The expressway will pass through nine districts Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Mau, Ambedkar Nagar and Ghazipur. Construction work of the expressway is almost 60 percent complete, as the authorities went on an aerial inspection of districts of Barabanki, Sultanpur and Azamgarh districts.

The 341 km long expressway is expected to be completed in December. It is a dream-project for the state with a mission of enhancing the connectivity to various districts in Uttar Pradesh. The authorities on inspection of Package 1 and Package 2 have assured that the Lucknow-Barabanki route will be soon open for public in January. In order to achieve it, the construction work of the Gomti Bridge needs to be fast tracked.

Major economic boost to districts in Uttar Pradesh

The expressway will give a major economic boost to areas like Barabanki, Ayodhya , Mau, Amethi, Ghazipur and Sultanpur. The construction of the expressway was due to be completed on November 14 but as a result of lockdown the date shifted to January. Authorities highlighted the fact that the expressway will be completed in record time. Purvanchal Expressway will cut short the duration from Ghazipur to Lucknow by 4 hours.
