According to the World AQI rankings report, Delhi has topped the list of the most polluted cities in the world with an AQI (Air Quality Index) of 527 as of November 15th.
Reportedly, Delhi's air quality rate had broken all records on November 5th when it was in the 'hazardous' range for 9 consecutive days - marking the longest period of hazardous air quality since public records began.
Not just that but 6 of the top 10 most polluted cities in the world comes within our country's borders. At 7 AM today, the AQI recorded in different parts of Delhi: Pragati Vihar (733), Dwarka Sector 8 (930), Chanakyapuri (660), Noida Sector 125 (665), Anand Vihar (535), Jahagirpuri (610) and Okhla (722).
The air quality index has pushed the region towards the 'emergency zone' for the second time in the last two weeks.
