Ayushmann Wins Hearts as He Defines ‘Gentleman’ in Powerful Video

It’s no surprise that Ayushmann Khurrana’s films revolve around a new and less talked about topic. However, the actor has not just limited that to his films. He also writes poetry regularly and this time he has performed a spoken word poem discussing, ‘What defines a true gentleman?’
Ahead of International Men’s Day on 19 November, Ayushmann dismantles the stereotypes associated with ‘being a man’ in a performance for The Man Company.
Talking about what kind of man he wanted to be, Ayushmann starts the poem with, “Mujhe na hero, na saviour, na superman banna tha. Jo ro sake, jo gaa sake, kisi ko bacha paaye toh bacha sake, aisa man banna tha. (I didn’t want to b a hero, a savior or a superman. I wanted to be a man who can cry, sing and help someone if he could)”
Apart from discussing how patriarchy and sexual violence also affects men, his poem goes on to define a true man. Written by Gaurav Solanki, the performance and the video is winning hearts of the internet as people are all praise for the actor.
The actor’s latest film Bala has been having a great run at the box office with earning Rs 50 crores in four days. On Monday, 11 November, the film raked in Rs 8.26 crore, taking the total to Rs 52.21 crore. For a weekday, the movie managed to do remarkably well.
