Ayodhya Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid Case Verdict LIVE News Updates: Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi is reading out an unanimous judgment in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case. A five-judge Constitution bench, headed by the CJI and comprising Justices S A Bobde, D Y Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer, is pronouncing its verdict on appeals against the 2010 verdict of the Allahabad High Court, which ordered a three-way division of the disputed 2.77 acres between the Nirmohi Akhara sect, the Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board and Ramlalla Virajman.
As the nation braces for India’s most significant and sensitive litigation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for calm, underlining that the judgment “will not be anyone’s loss or victory”.
Ahead of the verdict, Section 144 has been imposed across Uttar Pradesh. And schools, colleges, educational institutions and training centres in the state have been ordered to remain closed till Monday. Prohibitory orders have already been imposed in Ayodhya to prevent any law and order situation in the aftermath of the verdict.
