Cyclone Likely To Hit Arabian Sea On June 11-12, Warns IMD

A cyclone is most likely to occur in the Arabian Sea some 300 kilometres off the country's west coast between June 11-12, a Maharashtra government advisory said on Sunday.
The cyclone, while not hitting the state, is likely to result in gusty winds and a turbulent sea, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) officials said while speaking to news agency PTI.

Eight Die as Ambulance Collides with Lorry in Palakkad

Eight people died in Thanissery of Palakkad in Kerala on 9 June after the ambulance they were in, collided with a lorry. The people were being taken to a hospital when they got injured, after the car they were earlier travelling in, met with an accident.

Four and a Half Year Old Alleges Rape by a Minor Boy

A four and a half year old girl was allegedly raped by a minor boy in Barhi village of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh on 9 June. Jabalpur ASP-rural RS Narwariya said, “The accused has been apprehended after registering the FIR.”

Tiger Hide Seized in Assam, Three Held

In a joint operation by Jonai Police, Wildlife Crime Control Bureau and District Forest Department of Dhemaji district in Assam on 9 June, three people were arrested and a tiger hide, its teeth and bones were seized from their possession on 9 June. The three people who were arrested, are residents of Arunachal Pradesh.

Four Men Thrashed Allegedly for Cow Smuggling

Four men were allegedly thrashed on 9 June by locals in Dayor village of Fatehabad in Haryana on the suspicions of cow smuggling. Police said, "We had received a phone call. When we reached there, we found carcass of a cow and a calf and a cow hide, we also found 4 men along with these."

Fire Breaks out in East London, No Casualities Reported

100 fire fighters were present at the spot after fire broke out at Samuel Garside House by Riverside Barking in East London on 9 June. London Fire Brigade confirmed that there are no casualties. The fire was doused within an hour.
Peter Mason, Chairman of the Riverside Barking Housing Association reportedly said, “We understand that there was a fire in one of the balconies and the result of that was that it spread from that balcony all the way up to 5 floors and then spread across at least 4 floors.”

Kanpur: Minor Girl Alleges Rape by Her Teacher

A minor girl was allegedly raped by her teacher at a madarsa in Kanpur. CO, Govind Nagar said, “Received info this afternoon, a girl accused her teacher at madarsa of raping her, a case has been registered. Accused has been arrested and girl has been sent for medical check-up. The probe is on.”
